Hi everyone,
I have recently moved into a house which was built in the 1930s, after moving in I noticed that some of the paint in the bathroom had the appearance of bubbling, I scraped it off and was left with a white substance, I have done research and am worried this could be hygroscopic salts... Although at the same time I wonder if I am overreacting as it could just be a layer of paint previously painted onto the plaster?
I have attached photos and am very keen to hear if anyone has any thoughts around how I can tell if they are hygroscopic salts and if so, what's the best course of action?
I'd be incredibly grateful!
Thank you,
Matt
