Just been watching breakfast tv and they had a piece about the fire in the block of flats in Barking. They were talking to local residents and had bloody sub-titles on! Now, I only expect that when they’re interviewing someone with a regional accent, not someone speaking wiv the Queens Inglish! :whistle:

The problem with sub titles on live programmes is that they are delayed by a few seconds to when the words were spoken and often have incorrect wording.
By the time you finish reading them the announcer is into the next story. Perhaps if it had been a recorded interview they thought it a good idea to use subtitles for the deaf/hard of hearing to have a better understanding of the true story.
