The spring-loaded shroud, controlling the direction of flow, has gradually seized up. The plumber shop says I should use a plumber's wrench to 'remove the central assembly' to give access to (possibly) O-rings which can then be replaced. However, the shroud covers the pipe stem and there is nothing to get a grip on. What am I missing?
When I remove the shower hose and look inside the pipe stem, there is a recessed flat surface with a couple of holes
