I hardly use my dishwasher but I find water inside it everyday. I am not sure where it comes from since the machine is off and I dont turn it on.
Any ideas why? The outtake water hose from the machine is connected to the bottom of my sink.
thanks

either the fill valve is letting water by, or its back feeding from the waste outlet

I think you have answered your own question.....unless this hose has a loop in it which is higer than the water level of your sink !

it is possible that it could back fill. however legislation demands that a dishwasher should have either a non return valve in the drain line or an air break. to check the valve simply turn it off when not in use. if the machine continues to fill then it must be back filling. back filling from the sink outlet usually means smelly water.

might not be so in America, where poster is

the yanks are more litigious than us. in some states an appliance installed upstairs must be stood in a drained out tray in case of a leak. good idea i think.

I want to thank all who replied to my post. I appreciate your response. The hose connected to the bottom of the sink did not have a loop higher than the sink pipe but I looped the hose higher and now I the problem is solved. I guess the water was coming from the sink.

Thank you for letting us know. Its the only reward we get and most times people can't be bothered after they are sorted.
