People,
I need some assistance with the following.
I have a Devi underfloor heating system installed in the downstairs kitchen of my residential property. It has two 150W/m2 mats (one I believe to be 12m2 the other 3m2), on a concrete substrate and has a covering of Porcelain tiles. The heating mats were installed directly onto the concrete substrate and not onto a latex floor levelling compound or similar product. This obviously makes future removal of the tiles extremely difficult without damaging the heating mat(s).
In error, I selected an inexperienced tiler to tile the kitchen floor and as a result the quality of the tiling in one specific area is unacceptable in terms of flatness I am therefore considering the replacement of 5 – 6 tiles. The tiles have been laid for around 2-3 years.
I need someone that could provide an on-site underfloor heating that could offer a repair service. I need someone who could offer a service that would extend to the replacement and testing of heating mat that was damaged by the removal of around 5-6 450mm x 450mm tiles. It should be noted that the tiles in question may span both the heating cable mats and therefore may require the connection of perhaps four new lengths of heating cable.
The tile area requiring repair would be in the middle of the floor area allowing easy access and I would have removed the tiles prior to the cable replacement being undertaken (unless the repairer could also remove the tiles which would certainly be preferable to me). My property is in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire.
I can send photographs of the tiling in it’s existing condition (i.e unflat) and various photographs of the matting during the tiling process. These would help to give an indication of what work is required and perhaps also the routing of the two individual mats.
Many Thanks
