Hello, i need some advice please. Im a student in the third year of my surface design degree at somerset college. ive been asked to design and make a \\\"touchy-feely\\\" fence for a primary school.

the fence structure is already there, i am designing things to attach to the fence. after looking over this site i think i need to use WBP plywood or maybe marine although this sounds expensive? my finnished product needs to last for some years. any advice will be useful!!!

Emaando. Yep, you can use marine ply, or if treated thouroughly WBP ply.

Why not try approaching either a locl timber merchant/builders merchants, or a local building firm. Explain to them your situation and play up the kiddies benefit part. (especially try a company near to the school if poss). You may well find that they will either let you have off cuts, or sell you it at a really good price - especially if their name hppens to be mentioned somewhere....
