OMG I was chatting to my mate yesterday about when microwaves were invented LMAO

I remember being absolutely dumbfounded by the technology

I can live without one though. Mine has been with repair man for a week and was broken for about 2 weeks before that.

Zip-loc bags, rarely use them - the ones that come with oven pride are good though. excellent for cleaning all your oven trays and shelves

how did DIY problems get sorted before???

maybe a difference in location but zip loc bags have replaced plastic containers for leftovers, you can marinate food in them-you can put frosting/icing in, snip the corner and squeeze-decorate, you can use them for traveling....put shampoo and liquid items in and they wont leak and ruin your garments-they make great ice packs, use the little ones in your sewing kits....the list goes on.....

also remember when dimmer switches first came out-great idea
weed eaters and gas mowers......
clumping kitty litter
softer toilet paper
kitchen sprayers-for faucets.......

simpler times meant you could get a straight forward answer and left a conversation with more knowledge than you started with...now more questions, and need instructions for the answers

Don't feel the same way you do, I have my fair share of conversation where I do get away with freely given advice on all kinds of subjects.
Nowadays it seems I have a whole load of 'mentors' able and willing to share their knowledge (without instructions for answers, just simple answers)

My Dad had a shed in the garden even when I was a nipper. I remember it well. We used to go in there and listen to the radio whilst he was potting his seeds and things & he used to buy me a comic which was hidden in there so Mum couldn't find it hahaha

Dad always spoiled me - we had all sorts of dis-allowed things in that shed! Fizzy pop, sweets & comics LOL
