I am planning to build a house using the ICF system (probably Quadlock).

I have read in a couple of places that electric cable should be run in conduit because the ICF foam can cause some sort of deterioration of the sheathing of standard electrical cables.

Has anybody come across this?

For anybody who is interested, the answer is that yes you do have to run the cables in conduit. The polystyrene foam in the ICF blocks leaches the plasticizer out of the PVC cables and turns them brittle. The alternative, which is probably more expensive, is to use low smoke cable which has a different sheath.
