I'd like to build a new porch, where should I go to get one from?

Currently we've a double door porch that is about 35 cm deep to the front door. I've no idea why it's that size but I really want to build one with a single door that's bigger and has more use to us than being a draught excluder.

But I need help, I can do the base, the brick line all fine but I don't really know where to look for the porch and door itself. There's some places I've seen online that have kits but I don't really like the look of them. Is there anything I need to know?

Porch is just a name given to a non-habitable entrance room to a house. Think about the door first and how it will swing and then decide how you will build the walls around it, whether that be face brickwork, block (and render) or timber (and clad).

Primarily though, porches are little more than draught excluders or weather shelters.
