having trouble with an old ideal classic. BF.

turn the programmer on the central heating and hot water and the boiler will fire up first time round. after 5-10 mins cuts out and wont fire back up. pump working. system clear or air. when the boiler cuts out it doesnt seem to over heat. even with the theromostat phial out the dry pocket and cool the boiler wont strike up. thermostat clicks on and off.

i had the boiler fire up twice over and hour of playing about. all electrical connections are sound.240 at the gas valve. but no party inside the boiler.

i think either clock or gas valve? any suggestions would be brilliant

Why would 230v at the gas valve indicate a faulty clock??

Sounds like one of your solenoids (on gas valve) is going O/C. Needs replacing.

just stating that theres 240 at gas valve.

i thought maybe the clock would only send the signal intermitently. just getting a few ideas on the table :p
