Can anyone help on what on the face of it is a relatively simple problem.

Our Ideal Classic NF240 bolier has accidently been powered off and we can't relight it!

We've got the user's instructons but we still can't relight the boiler. Is there simple (or not so simple) that we might have overlooked?

Thanks in advance.

As vague questions go, that's a good one!

There is a switch on the front, is that on?
There is a temperature dial on the front, is that set to, say, 50% of max?

More likely has the power been turned off for the whole heating system, in which case find the timer/programmer and check for indications that it's ON (leds, lcd display?)
If not switch it to "24 hours" or "ON" or "CONSTANT".

If no joy, reply with make, model, and the results so far.
If joy, still reply- we all like to have our egos stroked from time to time.

Hello Meldrew's Mate,
Thanks for the v prompt reply.

Looks we have a result; the small wall mounted LCD control unit has become v slightly dislodged causing a break in the circuit; we've realigned it and hey presto it's working now. Just need to fix it permanately now.

Thanks a lot for your help.
