Hi all,
Our boiler heating (radiators) works fine, but if you put hot water on the radiators come on but no hot water.

I’m guessing there is some sort of valve that’s stuck on heating only? Any ideas where to look appreciated

Sounds like 3 port mid position valve, cylinder cupboard is where they’re usually located
Thanks I’ll google and take a look. I guess by cylinder cupboard you mean the big tank thing

Ok I’ve just watched a bunch of videos and I think you are spot on. It makes sense watched how they work so I’m going to go check them. Not sure if I can do it I always make a mess. But it doesn’t appear too hard. Just worried about the water spilling everywhere.

It might just need a new actuator/power head. If you find the valve, upload a photo and we can assist further.
Thanks but no need. I removed the head and checked the valve all moving easily and smoothly so I’ve just swapped the head over. Should have been an easy job but took a whole lot of forcing and messing to get it on. Used a 5 way plug for ease as the wiring is a rats nest. It just turned the water on will see if it’s working but I can hear noises in the tank ( cylinder) so I’m guessing it is. Hot water for the first time in ages.
Appreciate the help very much.
