Hi, I have a really old boiler from the late 70s and the pilot light has gone out.
I'm pretty sure to get it lit again, you hold in the grey knob while repeatedly pressing the white ignition button. I can see the spark, but it doesn't seem to light. Any ideas?

The grey knob has an arrow on it, does this need turning before you push it in?

Thanks

Roll on agile with his Oscilloscope, ERF meter, Laith, clamp meter , two hundred capacitors, most of them smoothing, a pocket load of resistors, some flat pipe and not a pilot injector or thermocouple in sight as its mostly inferior engineers that feel the need to carry these

You forgot the listening stick and torque screwdriver.

Mind you.... I bet he could get at least 4:1 out of this boiler with a bit of deft rectifying of the 230vac to the coil. That oscilloscope will be very handy for setting the correct frequency I'm sure ;)
