ideal elan 2 fails to ignite

I have an Ideal Elan 2 NF240 boiler.gc 4142961 which fires up with no problem on the first occasion but if i was to shut it down and then try it again the igniter clicks away for a long period before firing up and then continues to click for a while after firing up.Any ideas.
