Whilst attempting to replace the High Setting Thermostat on Ideal Elan 2 boiler, the copper plate that the High, Low & Overheat thermostats are fastened became detached from where it was attached to the last point on the manifold pipework.
This copper plate was simply soldered to the manifold exit pipe and the whole thing, solder included, has come away.
Is this repairable or alternatively is there a replacement plate that would be clamped rather than soldered on? Or do I have a dead boiler?
Regards.
