Ideal Elan 2 Wall Mounted Boiler - Terrible Noise

My boiler has over the last couple of days started to make a noise like its an aeroplane trying to take off, there are no bangs. The noise is not immediate but starts up about 50mins after, the side of the boiler is hot to touch. I am wondering if the boiler overheat thermostat needs replacing. Does anyone ave any ideas?

sounds more like the boiler control thermostat as the overheat should only kick in if/when boiler stat fails.

the side of the boiler should not be hot to touch.

could be several reason for boiler overheating
1.boiler stat faulty/not fully in contact with the pipe
2.pump faulty which causes poor circulation
3.over gassed/burner pressure too high
