ideal He24 boiler - working intermittently

folks,

this is a strange one...when i switch the bolier ON through the mains, the display unit seems to flicker in and out of life. The code reads 0.0 but the display unit does not light up fully. On other occasions, when the display unit lights up fully, the boiler gets going as normal.

when i open up the display unit and check al the connections, it seems to work. However, if i check again (say, after 5 minute), there is no guarantee that is starts up again!

any help would be much appreciated.

Sounds as if the plug on th back of the display unit may have got wet and intermittent.

Thats if you are lucky! If not the main PCB may have failed as often happens!

thanks for the reply.

I checked the display unit and don't see any signs of dampness there.
If the PCB has failed, should it not turn off completely?, or am i missing something?

Forgot to mention in my earlier post..

I have recently replaced the display unit..1.5 months ago...is there any chance i may have got a rotten unit?

Why did you replace it?

The back to back connector behind often gets wet and corroded!

Unlikely to be a faulty display!

the display unit was replaced 1.5 months ago as it had stopped working.

I was trying to understand if this has something to do with the current problem
