A property I am working on to rent out has one of these boiler in and has been working fine. Today I went to the property and turn boiler on and even thought there was a demand for heat and hot water the boiler just does nothing. No C or anything on the boiler. I tried resetting it and also turning on and off but n joy. I kept hold of reset and error Hb comes up. I phones ideal they said this is normally the reset button stuck but its not. I am thinking the board had just gone on this boiler. Can anyone help out on what it could be before I give ideal £310 ?

Thanks

Boiler is a total Turkey

Some times one wonders wether Ideal boilers have any thing to do with Bernard Mattews ??

U may well ? be best advised to put your 300 odd squid towards a new boiler & not an ideal either ;)

You can say that again about being a total turkey ha. Just reading on internet HB may be user controls which I can get for around £33. Anyone help me out on this, just need it running at moment and think about getting it changed in next 6 months.

Is it just sitting at O? If so Put a link back in between L1 and L2 on 5 wire terminal to rule out external controls.
If nothing on display then probably main pcb.

Just had a local engineer I was put onto come out. He changed the board with a new refurb bard. What has got me the board what was in originally had 2 pins in and was working and the same type of board he put in had 3 pins and works. Has a pin magically fell out of my board and made it stop working or do some hav 2 and some have 3 pins ?

Just read the instructions. What the engineer did was change the controls display what was giving error message hb. This then went off and then displayed h6 so he changed the board to one with three pins in whet he had. What I have read in the instructions is there are 2 types of display so when he changed the original board he need a extra pin in it to be compatible with the different model display.

Hence the board was not gone.

Does this make any sense ?
