I am in receipt of a replacement PCB which I am attempting to put in myself. I had the signs of no power and done my homework on this site and saved myself a fair bit of money.

I am in receipt of the PCB which is orange compared to the old one being black. I am told the orange one is exactly the same but with the latest software. They do look identical but noticed the jumper setting on the PCB are different. Should I leave them as they are or move them to match the one I have taken out.

Hopefully I will have it all working tonight :)

I would move them to match the existing one.
Although I would have taken the opportunity to get rid of the boiler
rather than wasting money on it.

comes with instructions, follow them.

Get the jumper links wrong you could be in trouble mate. Get a gas safe engineer to fit & look the boiler over. best to be safe!!!

The jumpers are in a seperate bag so the pins are bare , as said getting the jumpers in the right order is critical regrds input rating.

Sometimes the loom is the issue between board/display , a good clean up of the plugs can also save the cost of a PCB.

At least the vaillants use a DSN as opposed to an ideal with few misplaced jumpers.

Hi

Thanks for your advice all. I bought the pcb off someone who replaced their boiler 6 weeks after the replaced pcb. Phoned ideal, they said keep jumper setting same as existing. Which I did, boiler working for two hours now and seems to be fine.

I will get someone to service the boiler. You may think it's mad but 40 quid instead of 270, which is what I was quoted. New boiler was not an option but will plan for the future now I know this boiler is a poor one. It's not like we all got near a grand to replace it eh!

£270 is about right to supply and fit , a moot point as you have one now.

Considering you have already fitted the board then jumper would go to pin pair 1 along with a display code 0.1 (icos he12)
