Hello, I am looking for some advice before calling RGE on intermittent hot water problem. The boiler works ok in CH mode. When running hot water after 10 minutes, the boiler stops for 5 seconds, then fires up again for few minutes and keeps repeating off for 5 seconds then on for few minutes. Occurs when running tap on full or with shower. Hot water pressure is good. Temperature dial is about 65C. Can anyone help?

It would sound like a blocked or scaled heat exchanger.
If you have your manual grab it and look for the Domestic Hot water plate heat exchanger.
Once u know where in the boiler it is place if safe to do so a finger or hand on it on hot water mode, if its red hot and hot water is hot cold hot cold its blocked.
You can remove this and use chemicals unblock it or simpler option is to replace it but the positon of the heat exchanger is not easy to remove and is normaly fixed with star or alan key bolts.
Other cause would be the hot water thermistor which works of resistance and if you have your manual grab it and check what resistance you should have (remember its a temp based value so you need to note the temp its in also)

If yoiur times are correct its not the plate HE.
It might well be a sensor failing when it gets hot.
Assuming its the three fault lights model then what those lights when it faults and advise me of the status of each light.
Even if its not then you can easily convert it to become a three light.
