Ideal mini S24

Hi

First off thanks a million for taking the time to read this post. Now I have been in my house for about 3 and half years. We have our heating and hot water running off a Ideal mini S24 boiler and I am having a problem.

We have a timer in the house for when the boiler should come on which works (I think). When the timer comes on the boiler ignites burns for a few seconds and then turns off, This can happen all night while the timer is on. I have read all the on-line manuals but they tend to talk about a 3 led light system and my boiler only has one led that flashes green when the boiler cuts.

I have uploaded pictures of the boiler and will provide links below as I have no idea what to do. I have spoken to a plumber and he says that the pump needs tobe replaced but sometimes it works and some times not. This problem started when he replaced the cut off values upstairs in the press.

Please help ......

Are you getting hot water? What pressure indicated on the meter (lower display) ?

This problem started when he replaced the cut off values upstairs in the press.

What valves are these? What do they do or what is their function?

I know, many questions.

The cut off valves are those that are linked to the thermostat on each floor when the right temp is hit it will turn off the flow of heat to that floor and open when it drops below the temp. ( I hope that makes sense )

Now my pressure is running just below 1 bar but I have had it higher as the recommended pressure is just over a bar. At present when the system acts up we ain't getting heat or hot water.

I will link pictures of the flow valves I am talking about in the top section. If there are any other pictures that will help you understand what is going on please let me know and I will be happy to post them .

These valves are known as motorised valves.

It is possible the wiring is defective or valve not fitted correctly. If the boiler worked before, it should work after the motorised valve has been replaced. Why was the valve replaced.

I would get the pressure up a little to 1.25 bar.

3 weeks after we moved into our brand new house the motorized valves started to act up. The plumber said that he would romove them and that we are to control the heat with time, i.e 15 min on 15 min off and that worked well for a long time no complaints till we sprung a leak in one bathroom and had problems with the toilet in another to name a few problems. When the plumber came around to fix all the small problems we decided that we should get them replaced but it has all started again.

Grrrrr I need to move to a warm country where I dont need heat systems......

If this is a brand new house then the builder should be dealing with any problems with the heating properly and not telling you to bypass the problem by timing the system.

The builder went bang about 2 years ago the council now has the estate and they can take ages to get things done!!!!!! Sorry my faith in the council is less then zero......

Is it a regular on-off, or does it sound like a bad connection?

From what I am seeing it looks like it is the motorized valves as if I play with them the heating and the hot water work for a day or two and then nothing till I mess with them again.
