Rather spectacularly i managed to smash our en suite hand basin at the weekend (dropping a perfume bottle in there...). Anyway - I think it's an Ideal Standard model of some description. How do I find the model number, so I can try and source a direct copy, rather than have to change the pedestal/tiles/carpet etc etc.

Any ideas anyone? I've looked around a bit around the back, but nothing leaps out as being a number. The sink would be about 8 years old now.

or could someone let me know what a symbol on the ceramic stands for - looks like a capital W with a suffixed c (or u) next to it.

So could be Wc, or Wu, or possibly a W with a shell curled up. Cos I think I've got the model number for the basin - 1234. The pedestal appears to be 1044, the toilets are 1661, and the smaller cloakroom basin is 1132.

But I just don't know the manufacturer!

Thanks

madge, I think you have more chance of winning the lottery..... :(
Just from experience, I would think a new basin needs to be budgetted for, unfortunately, as these products are notoriously difficult to match - a bit like tiles!!
Must have been one hell of a perfume bottle.....but best of luck if you go a-searching.
John :)
