My kitchen extension cavity back wall is a continuation of the existing solid kitchen wall. I can easily use wall starters for the outer skin, but the inner skin is not over the solid wall due to the cavity width. Any suggestions?

Any ideas? Or can I just build up the inner skin not tied in?
Another option is to build a small return on that edge.... would BC be happy with that cold bridge?

Like the idea of a vertical timber fixed to the new block edge and the existing wall.

on ours the overhang was on the outside (due to adding external insulation to the existing wall) and they just used fishtail ties screwed in at an angle which the SE said was ok. You can get special ties which the SE had specified Ancon WHX. See https://www.ancon.co.uk/products/wall-ties-restraint-fixings/standard-wall-ties or https://www.swanndirect.com/product/whx/
So the wire bit of the tie goes in the mortar joint and the plate bit screws onto the existing wall?

Yes the plate bit onto the corner, so hook the right angle on and screw to the face of the wall then mortar in the wire
