Ignition wont come on for hot water..

Hi everyone, I have a (combination)Halstead Gold boiler and the ignition light does not come on when I run any hot water. This has only just happened after working fine yesterday.
It means that I have to turn the thermostat up very high for the heating to kick in so that the water starts to heat up.
Does anyone know what the possible cause would be and whether it might be expensive to fix?

Any advice would be most welcome as I dont have a clue where to start

Does the heating still work normally?
Assuming it does and when you turn the stat up, does the water run hot and then cold again?
