Ikea integrated Whirlpool DWF B10 dishwasher

hi, have just moved into new place and there is an Ikea integrated Whirlpool dwf b10 dishwasher in the kitchen. the weird thing about it is that the top basket seems to be set very low so you can't put an ordinary size dinner plate in the bottom basket because the washing arm hits it and gets stuck. Does anyone have any ideas about this? I'm wondering if the top basket has been misfitted but unfortunately there's no manual for it from the previous owner. Help!
