Very inexperienced person stupidly decided to replacer her very archaic sink for an ikea one… coming unstuck on the final hurdle… the previous waste pipe for the sink water fitted directly into the waste set up - the Ikea one in another spot, they have given me all the bits but can’t seem to understand how they connect, can I rip up the grey waste and somehow have that going down the white pipe (even though they won’t screw together or do I but something that will connect them?) Anyone know if the grey pipes can be separated? They don’t come off easy and think I might break it if I try. Thanks!

Not sure if they'll undo tbh. Whichever method you choose you need to extend the waste pipe and trap (white part). If you want to use the white trap, then you'll likely need a different waste outlet. I hate all that grey stuff be it IKEA or another type, just my opinion as a gas engineer (previously plumber).
