We have an Whirlpool/IKEA dishwasher that has been in place for about three years. It's always worked fine but recently it's been the cause of a number of incidents where the fuse switch for the kitchen sockets has tripped. If I reset the trip then the dishwasher (and everything else) starts up again and continues working as usual.
What could be the cause of this? Presumably the dishwasher has suddenly started pulling more current than before?
BTW the dishwasher is on the same circuit as the washing machine and electric kettle, nothing else apart from the occasional charger. If the two appliances are both on at the same time and using their internal heating elements (i.e. if the hot water supply has run cold) could this be the problem?
Thanks
Jerry
