IKEA / Whirlpool DW110 dishwasher fault

The dishwasher fills with water and then empties within minutes. The machine doesn't wash, release detergent tray or heat the water. It literally fills and then drains.

There are no flashing lights.

I have tried taking the filter out and cleaning and have also poured boiled water into the DW to dissolve any greasy build up.

Can anyone tell me how to get into the diagnostic routine for this machine or offer hints as to what might be wrong?
