Is it standard practice to silicone etc the joints whilst installing this flue system?

and on a further note -

if an open flued boiler is installed within an airing cupboard (compartment) and the ventilationm is direct to the loft (via a 7/8" galv mid level tube) then how do you work out the required free area required?

Is the loft considered to be a 'room' for calculation purposes?

7/8 must be a small boiler

if the loft is ventilated
 
I'll emailyouKev as this one has got me confused (openflued in a compartment with ventilation to loft).
