Hi, I hope someone can help?
I have an immersion heater that, if it is left on for more than 45mins, will start to boil the water in the header tank in the loft! So, I have to time how long to have the heater on and then switch it off manually or have the oil central heating on but thats a waste and heats the radiators at the same time (too hot for that in the summer!)
It got so bad once that water started ****ing through the ceiling and I had to turn all the taps on to drain the boiling water from the header tank. I read some horror stories about people being killed by scalding water coming through the ceiling after the boiling water and weakened the plastic walls of the tank!
Could this be the immersion heater of the thermostat controlling it? Or something else?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
