Immobiliser or key.

My daughter as a 02 corsa we bought it a fortnight ago driving it earlier all the display's went and when she came home it won't restart,the engine management light comes on and the ignition but no other lights,wiring fault,immobiliser or key? any one with idea's.Reading in the manual it says about the immobiliser light flashing it doesn't even come on.

If it carried on driving (even with no dash lights) then it can't be the imobiliser.
Does starter turn or does it just click?
Does central locking work and all other electrics (windows, etc)
Check all fuses
Check earth wire to starter + battery

Thanks for answering,the engine turns over,the central locking works,no electric windows they are manual,I was thinking along the lines of a wiring fault,but where to start checking.edit that I see you said check the earth I'll look in the morning.

Turns out to be not an uncommon problem with a Corsa,the connection into the back of the unit becomes loose or contaminated for some reason,took it out and gave it a clean and the jobs a good un.

No,it was the display unit.
