Hi folks,

Wondering if people could give me some inspiration with ideas of how to improve my back garden patio/path area. I had considered decking over the patio but I'm not sure if it would be worth it.

The whole area needs a tidy and pressure washing.

What about the gaps in the slabs that are full of weeds at the moment? Do i kill/remove the weeds and put in mortar in to fill the gaps? Or a dry mix? Some of the gaps are up to 30mm so i probably need to try and push them together and make the whole thing a bit more uniform.

Should i add some sort of decorative edging between the slabs and grass. Any suggestions welcome!

Thanks

I think you need to work out what you want from the area first. Socialising, bbq, play area for the kids, chill out area or all of the above.

Next how much do you want to spend.

A good pressure wash would certainly improve the area.

He cleans and repairs a patio area. The basics apply regardless of the stone.

I wouldn't use decking, you’ll be taking it up in 5 years because of the rats underneath or rotting wood.

Hi mate, thanks very much! That's a useful video!

The patio area will mainly be for relaxing/socialising. I keep the table and chairs there. I'll start with cleaning off the slabs and see how it goes from there
