This is a single storey and single pitch roof built 30 years ago.
The felt has gone in two places where the timber overlap butt together on top of the tiles at the top of the pitch. The gap is upto 1/2" at the butt.
The wood is 6x1 vertically and 3x1 on top of it then 6x1 screwed onto the 3x1 to cover the gap at the top of the pitch which is not exactly a good method.

I want advice for a better method of water proofing as this has failed.
