Any ideas what this white substance is on the roof , found this after having torrential rain for the past week .
Also do we need to worry of the roof ponding as this is a new roof ?
Thanks

Any ideas what the white substance could be ?

Lead carbonate.

Apply patination oil.
Sort out the tile guage around the velux windows.
Dress the lead down properly.
How is the felt finished at the edge of the flat roof..the edge detail is important to prevent wind lift.

Here are the pictures, even noticed that one of the corner tiles were missing at the top . Mentioned to Builder he said it’s not needed

The job needs checked properly by a competent person.
Looks like there's leadwork missing, stretched courses of tiling, missing top courses, the vented soffit is unacceptable..hope you haven't paid yet.

well, firstly where as the staining is unsightly its not going to cause a weatherproofing problem.. it will just get worse. clean off and apply patination oil.
the tile gauge hasn't been worked out well, leads me to think it wasn't a roofer that tiled it.
lead needs dressing to profile of tiles
vertical tiling abutments look like they may well be poorly weathered
looks like the skylight has a torch burn on it.. not nice.
velux flashings have the foam profile removed where they should be cut to tile profile underside. will allow bird access, wind blown snow etc.
felting looks messy, nervous about the felt to lead front drip..but we are not felt roofers others on here are.

Thanks for the advice ,
Could you clarify what u mean by ‘lead needs dressing to profile of tiles’?

Basically the lead flashings need to be dressed.. (shaped) to follow the shape of the tiles. its particulary bad around the chimney..
Take a look at calders good leadwork guide it might help.
