In line water softener

Hi All
I’m thinking of having the cylinder replaced in our house (Gravity fed) before something happens. Anyone have comments regarding current inline water softeners…. The water in Sussex is terrible …. Many thanks

Water softener works. Only ever seen two fitted though right after stop tap. Those magnets ones don't do anything. Buy a Cristal softener

What do you mean by "inline?" One of those little plastic cylinders that you replace after X litres of water have passed through them?
