Thanks in advance for all advice received

Hi, I have just been in the loft this morning after an frosty night / morning and the black kind of fabric layer that the tiles sit on is damp.

Well what I mean is that when you touch the black material it is wet to touch.

Is this normal after a night of frost ?

Cheers

Yes, it's condensation, make sure the water tank cover lid is on, sometime water evaporates from the water tank and heating below increasing condensation. The other problem is poor ventilation in the roof area, many ways of doing this by soffit circular vents, ridge tile vents, air-brick vents and fascia vents but best to wait to see how it goes, if it's an ongoing problem then you need to improve air flow movement. Some people just move the loft hatch open slightly to allow the air flow!

If you have no ventilation at all in the loft area then really need to add air vents

Many thanks for the advance, I know the water tank lid is not the orginal, I will have to look for some type of elastic one or see if I can still get the original.

Cheers
