I thought this info may be of use ...... my son was one of the unfortunate millions who 'apparently' had paid incorrect tax.
He received a tax bill for just under £6000 ..... obviously a huge burden in these financially stretched times, however, he has persisted and argued about it with the tax office and today received a letter to say that he now does not have to pay any extra tax as the 'Extra Statutory Concessions' applied in his case.
Had he not queried it and also persisted with his argument he would still be £6000 worse of ..... so it goes to show its always worth fighting your corner in these situations.
