Indesit w161-self filling

Machine fills up when switched off. Going by similar posts, this might be down to faulty fill valve on cold inlet. Before I go opening up everything, any help as to what I will find or look for etc???

as you said needs new fill valve, open up your m/c and see if yours is double tripple or single

The other thing that can cause this problem is incorrect routing of the waste hose. If the waste hose is plugged into a sink trap and the water can run down by gravity into the machine it will fill up with waste water from the sink. The solution to this is to simply raise the waste hose up above the height of the sink trap connection at some point along its length.
