Won't do anything!

Put a load on to wash tonight at a program 4, started going through the cycle and then started clicking as all other indesits on here seem to do. Counted the flashes and when I switch it on it's only flashing twice in the first instance but think it usually does this before the door lock light comes on anyway. The flashin is then just constant of one, pause, one, pause. Can't even get the water to drain either.

The drum goes round fine and makes no noises when I move it round with my own hand.

Any suggestions/help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks

Lori

one flash indicates a problem with the motor triac.
However, before you go replacing the main pcb and eprom, have a look at the carbon brushes in the motor.
Also check the wiring from the pcb to the motor.

Thanks, The one flash isn't fast. It's just the normal speed as in when the wash has finished. I have phoned a man today and he reckons that as the water is not draining the fliter could be blocked. I have drained the water from the front bottom bit of the washing machine but should the black cover thing come off to let me get into the tube or do I have to go in underneath it?

Thanks for your help.

Sorry, missed the part about it not draining.
From the sounds of it you've unscrewed the filter but can't pull it out.
It should come all the way out, if it's stuck then debris is jamming it.
This entails stripping the pump down to get the debris out.
It can be done by tilting the machine back, removing the screws to release the pump then disconnecting the hoses from it.
You should then be able to get the debris out.

Thanks for that. Spoke to a guy today and he's coming out tomorrow to have a look. Reakons he'll be able to fix it for £20 so fingers crossed.

Great site with great help - Thanks again
