Hello,
How long is the average lifespan of these machines. Have had trouble before with the drum lifters (which I've had to repair with plastic ties as they have all broken away from the drum). More recently the washes are finishing with the clothes still quite wet. Would appreciate your thoughts and any basic service tips before considering shelling out on a new washer/dryer! FYI it's about 5 years old and is used pretty regularly by a couple.

Clean the filter out first , found under the front kickstrip.

When it finally goes that's in about 2 years time

Have just unscrewed the filer and cleared some plastic. What do the two screws on either side of the filter open up?

It holds the pump to the frame that's all
