indesit WD12X door handle don't close anymore! PLEASE HELP!!

hi!
the door handle of my washing machine indesit WD12X was broken.
firstly a technician unscrewed the top and opened it pulling something from inside and afterwards another person change the handle.
now i can't get in touch with neither of the two people who helped me and the door isn't closing any more even if the handle is brand new!
i've been told to re-unscrew the top and push back what the technician previously pulled, is that correct?
and, how do i do this?

Look at the striker pin on the door ,does the silver bar go from top to bottom If not with a small screw driver slide it down to the bottom of the lock on the door.

Thank you very much for your help! i managed to fix it!although now the machine is not spinning!the water gets in but it doesn't spin! do you know what that could be and what should i do?
