Small kitchen in a self contained detached annexe

Best way of connecting / cable sizing for an Oven & Induction 2 zone hob

Oven has plug on it and 2.2kw
Hob is rated at 2.8kw.

Is it best to run a 6mm to a single 32a dp switch , then a combined outlet plate behind oven
or is this overkill ?

6mm² would be more than adequate ,and would allow a higher wattage appliance to be fitted at a later date ,if ever required. A socket can be fitted for the oven to plug into ,and the hob hard wired ,both into a dual appliance outlet plate.

so can I cut the plug off and connect into the plate with the oven ?

I was suggesting you fit a dual outlet plate ,connect the hob to it and a cable going to a socket for the oven to plug into. Not a fan of cutting off the moulded plug of a new appliance.

- just trying simplify the 1st fix really to avoid a surface box
could I run from the 32a dp switch :
1x 6mm to single outlet plate for hob
1 x 2.5mm to a socket for oven to plug into

Switch - 6mm² - Outlet plate - 6mm² - Socket.

Allows for changing the socket to another outlet plate, or both to sockets, which will cover any future appliance choices.
Also avoids multiple sizes of cable on a single circuit.
