This is more curiosity than anything.
I have brought a job lot which included 2 packs of 'HS21A011 IR transceivers'.

I can't find anything online about them, so was wondering if anyone knew what they would be used for and if they have any use/value.

The only thing is says on both is 'OMRON'.

Photos below (hopefully).

Ignoring the part number, they appear to be a standard IR LED emitter/receiver pair.
There are plenty available (along with application notes and datasheets), from the hobby suppliers, i.e.

Thanks for the information RandomGrinch and SFK.

I assume the ones I have are a simple on-off switch and not capable of transmitting or receiving any data.

Looking at it again, I think Random was correct in that it is a simple break beam sensor. And not my suggestion of remote control.
It could be used for data, but one way and slow data.
