I moved into my house 3 years ago, the radiator in the under stairs cupboard has never worked.

Finally just got round to looking into it, turns out the return 10mm plastic pipe is blocked solid.

I’ve pulled carpets up to find out where it’s fed from. It’s T’d off 15mm feed and return copper to 10mm plastic from under the floorboards in the landing that then goes down behind the plaster board to the downstairs rad.

I’ve had my compressor on it up to near 100psi and it slowly leaks pressure through the blockage until it’s at 0psi again, nothing moves I’m starting to think it might be kinked somewhere?

Anyone got any other suggestions ? Will this radiator ever work with this awful 10mm plastic pipe with T off

Cheers

Can't you drain down, remove the plastic pipe and clean it or replace it?

I wish I could to that to my microbore copper pipes, I'm planning on replacing them with 15mm - I may get some warmth then :)

I’d rather get it working with what’s in, wouldn’t be that straight forward to just replace the pipe

if you can get to both ends then disconnect it and try pressure then. Only way I've ever managed to clear that type when it was that blocked was using a system pressure tester, one pipe (copper) took 20 bar, was a bit of a mess when it went.
