Have you got a Feed and Expansion Tank in the loft?

i will be draining the system in about a months time to add 1 more rad to the system would there be any harm in not putting the inhibitor in until then or do we need to do it straight away now

cheers brett

Do it now. It'll kill off any residual chemicals left from the flush.

When you drain in a months time (yeah, like autumn!) you can shut all the rads to hold the elixir or just keep what you've drained and tip it back in. If you're soldering, you should flush the work area's pipes.

If you're as mean as me, you can keep the drain-off in buckets (or a clean swingbin fits mine) and tip it back in.

Obviously, if you get any sediment out, don't put that back.

just another quick one if i wanted to put the inhibitor directly into a radiator what is the best way of doing this how do i pour the sentinel into a horizontal valve without spilling over the floor is there any kind of device used to do this or am i just being really stupid here

turn off the valves

slacken one ene and drain water into tray or similar

remove chrome plug

screw in 1/2"" bsp m/f elbow

tighten the end you used to drain

pour it down the elbow

remove elbow and replace plug

open valves

or get one of these
