Hi
I want to install an inset kitchen sink into a very tight area, in a back kitchen utility room. Would it be possible to have the front edge of the sink at the very front of the work surface?
At the moment the surface is just painted wood. Appearance isn't that important. Could I fit it on, then maybe support the front with some 2 by 1 or something? I'm not sure what size the lip is on an inset sink.
Thanks for any help.

Its usually a fairly small lip - in the region of 1/2". The problem could be using the clamps to hold the front edge down, but I'm sure it would be possible to cobble up something!
John :)

How about a Belfast sink. Failing that, if you scout around you'll find stainless sink units with front lips about 30mm deep specifically designed for non-inset use

OK, neither is what you are asking for but considering you are already placing restraints on intended use you might wish to consider alternative options.
