Or if you would like us to try and help, and this is not a wind-up then please describe,
if your existing cooker point is fed from a 30, 40 or 45 A radial, and the type of cable that feeds it, and then the rating of the new cooker in either watts or amps. From this we can tell if your existing wiring is up to it, or if the cable needs replacing with something fatter. (many new cokers draw rather morepower than older models, and just re-using the old wiring "willy nilly" can be a fire hzard, depending what is there.)
Then we need to know the wire routing arrangement, I presume from description that it might be that you have a cooker isolator on the wall feeding an outlet plate, but maybe not as you mention 2 wires, it may also be directly wired to a tail. Then we need to know what is on the back of the cooker, screw terminals, eye terminals, studs? If it set for split phase supply it will need linking up for single, and probably other details we realise we need as you describe the problem in more detail..
