Installation manual for older Veritas R8 alam required

I have a veritas R8 alarm system, installed approx 8 years ago. I am trying to find an installation manual for this but can only find one for a newer type R8.....I believe there were some significant differences between the two.

Anyone know where one can be downloaded as a PDF??

I may have a fault with the circuit board in the main unit as we keep getting tamper faults......the keypad makes a funny buzzing noise and the strobe light flashes outside. I have had it checked out and an engineer came and did something in the main until to loop out the tamper switch (or something like that). He said if it happens again, it may be a dry joint on the main circuit board and the board would have to be replaced.....big ££££

Just want to get prepared and know how everything works in case it happens again. If I can source a new board I was thinking about fitting it myself.

I would also like to personalise it more and change some of the features.

Maybe I'm just old fashioned but we used to resolder dry joints. Its a lot cheaper. Most likely place for a dry joint is where a component is soldered to both sides of the board and there is no through plating, also on components that heat up and cool down, hi wattage resistors etc.

A new panel with keypad is not going to be ££££ - materials will be ££, and the labour will be no more than an hour or two.

Maybe time to upgrade to a better panel, and pay £££
