Hi,

I want to install a dihwasher in my kitchen but am limited to positions I can place it without extensive moving of existing appliances including sink, washer and oven/hob.

I have a galley style kitchen and one of the only available spaces I have is directly opposite my sink, this would mean routing the water inlet and waste under the floor, I am happy with doing this for the water feeds as they are obviously pressurised supplies but please can someone advise if it is feasible to run the waste pipe under the floor?

I have read that the waste should be kept above a certain level and obviously this woudn't be, however the overall run shouldn't be too long (< 3 meter).

Any advice appreciated

Doesn't the flexible waste pipe coming from the dishwasher have to be a certain height above the floor, hooked/turned down into a elongated waste trap thingy. Like the washing machine. Can't think of its proper name.

This trap thing could be raised higher than usual, giving you more head of water, enabling you to get 3m flow length. To get maximum flow I would first see if it worked with a water trap seal, if not do away with the water trap seal and just have a easy radius bend.

Don't know how you get outside connection into gully, (i.e. you are not into the ground).

It sounded reasonable, until I read it back to myself. Still I will post it anyway.

You should be OK if you can maintain a constant fall of 2 1/2 degrees or 1 in 40 or so, and keep the run under the floor straight to an outside gulley.

No going back up hill anywhere, or it definitely will not work.

I would consider using a washing machine stand pipe and trap and 50mm pipe under the floor clipped every metre to stop it sagging, with a swept bend up the wall, and cleaning access points for each direction of the pipe run. 50mm bends have a larger radius, so would be easier to get a 'snake' round if it does block. If there is access for cleaning, you won't need it. If there isn't any, you will.

The manufacturers instructions with the machine will usually give any requirements for the routing of the machine outlet hose. They often need to be routed 700mm or so above floor level to the trap connection
