Installing a bathroom extract.. What's wrong with this wiring?

Top to bottom it's N/L/S black, brown, grey.

Replacing an extractor that was constantly on for one with a timer & humidity sensor. I just rewired it like for like... But it doesn't seem to cut out & has a red flashing led.

Am i in mortal sangre?

If the humidity setting is too high it may never switch on

Leave it a few days to acclimatise
 
Top to bottom it's N/L/S black, brown, grey.

Electricity does not see colours.

There is also a bare wire poking out of the sheath, which might be an earth

Have you a multimeter or other tool to determine what each wire is?
